Graveside Services and Interment for Eddie R. Milligan, Sr., 66, Haughton, Louisiana are scheduled for 2:00 PM Wednesday at Slidell Cemetery, Slidell, Texas under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens. Mr. Milligan died February 14, 2010 in Tyler.
He was born to the late Leon Alexander and Cora Ardilla Nixon Milligan.
He married Sherry Watson Milligan in Durant Oklahoma July 17, 1978. He was a very well respected horse trainer and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his wife, Sherry Milligan, Haughton, La.; children Glenna and Ernie Vest, Gunter, Tx.; Eddie Milligan, Jr. and wife, Charlene, Murchison, Tx.; Allen Milligan and Jeanette Hughes, Arlington, Tx.; Colin and Julie Bridewell, Haughton, La.; Bay and Brian Jackson, Haughton, La.; Foster Bridewell, Arlington, Tx.; grandchildren Courtney Smith, Jennifer Gray, E.J. Vest, Caleb Milligan, Cameron Milligan, Haylee Bridewell, Cassidy Jackson, Kobe Jackson and Ava Bridewell, great grandchild Tyler Bigler.
Memorials may be made to the Race Chaplaincy of America or Louisiana Backstretch Benevolent Fund.
Family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
