Obituary for John R. Bostick, Jr.

John R. Bostick Jr. passed away on June 23, 2020 in Athens, TX, surrounded by love, prayers and family. Visitation will be Friday, June 26, 2020 from 8 5P.M. at Autry’s Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home, Athens, TX. Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Saturday, June 27, 2020 at First United Methodist Church, Athens with Rev. Jason Smith officiating. John R. Bostick Jr. was born February 5, 1953 in Mojave, CA to John R. Bostick Sr. and Thelma Eugenia (Jean) Love.
John was a devoted friend, husband and father. He was preceded in death by his father, John R. Bostick Sr., two sons, Benjamin Wayne Bostick and John Aubrey Bostick, brother Douglas Love and sister Carolyn Carey. John is survived by his loving wife Geraldine (Geri) Bostick, his mother Jean Love and children; Nathan Bostick and wife Stephanie, Adam Bostick, William (Billy) Bostick, and wife Kayla, Sondra Campoz and husband Ifraim (and children), Brian Janak Jr. and wife Jennifer, Ashlie Benedetto and husband Gary. He will be missed by his loving grandchildren; Nathan Jr. and John Henry Bostick, Christian and Ruth Bostick, Gabriel Delapaz, Bailey and Georgia Bostick, Violet, Ivy, Gibson and Jazmine Janak, Willow, River and Wesley Benedetto. He is also survived by his siblings, Dolores Weiss (C.A. Hunter), Kevin (Tammy) Love, Steven (Kelly) Love, Belinda (Jerrel) Cress and several nieces and nephews.
He proudly owned Bostick Metal Roofing, known for excellence, for over 25 years and leaves behind his devoted crew. He was a friend of Bill W.’s for over 27 years, and touched the lives of many. John had a lifelong love of motorcycles and belonged to several motorcycle groups active in patriotism. John dearly loved his family who looked to him for guidance. He was immensely proud of his close relationship with each of his children and the adults that they have become. He was happiest when was able to go fishing with his buddies, second only to when his house was full of grandchildren. John was known for his patriotism, his heart for connecting with others, his larger than life personality and a sense of humor to match. He holds a special place in the hearts of all.
Pallbearers are Billy Bostick, Nathan Bostick, Adam Bostick, Brian Janak, Gary Benedetto, Bryan Hoad.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jody King, Todd Hustead,Chuck Craze, Billy Lee, Kevin Love, Steven Love and Jerrel Cress.
